I believe that the major confusion stems from Hen Long AND Marui boxes for the M1A2 Abrams which is actually rather similar when you look at the two from a distance, especially from the front of the box where the pictures are rather similar on the whole. The VsTank Pro M1A2 Abrams box remains largely unaffected since it has a completely different design as compared to Hen Long and Marui. As for the Leopard2 box, VsTank Pro and Marui have a distinctly different box from a Hen Long one.
However if you can take a look closely, you'll find out some extra differences of the packages.

The tank picture on the box
The major difference is that Marui actually made TWO boxes for the M1A2 Abrams, one for the Desert Storm and one for the NTC Camo. The Desert Storm box has a front view picture with the cannon pointing upwards. The NTC Camo version has a top-downish view. Instead, Hen Long combined these two into their box and has an NTC Camo tank with a front view picture, and a very fake looking airsoft bullet on the top right corner.
The sides of the box
A very big difference if you are allowed to see it when you're buying online (and that's why most Hen Long eBay sellers don't put up the sides of the box), all Marui boxes have line graphs and descriptions for the tank's functions on one side of their box. Hen Long omits this on their box. VsTank Pro also has the line graphs as well, but on another side of the box.

The interior of the box
If you can see the interiors of the box, you can immediately tell which brand the tank is from.

And this would be how a Marui M1A2 Abrams looks right out of the box. Note the sheet of paper on the top left corner and the silver transmitter. |
